Bonjour chers collègues,

The French Traveler offers professional development workshops every summer in France for teachers of French. Attended by teachers who are passionate about their profession, the stages focus on the contemporary cultural issues of France, making them accessible to you and consequently to your students. Morning seminars and afternoon excursions fill our days; we also have leisure time and optional activities. We speak only French; we dine together in restaurants selected for their authenticity. We also laugh a lot, believing that fun and humor reinforce language skills as much as linguistic content. When we’re not engaged in animated discussions about France today, we’re collectively pooling ideas for new lesson plans or perhaps spending our free time in those monuments, museums or bookstores we’ve been longing to visit.

We have always integrated into our workshop the themes used in the advanced teaching of French in high schools throughout America. In our program syllabus this year we have highlighted them for you, so that you can be assured of reaching your goals and broadening your cultural understanding of France (and by extension, that of your students as well).

Our Cultural Immersion Workshopmay earn you 85 Massachusetts professional development hours for your efforts.

Proud to be a Ch'Ti!

Bienvenue chez les Ch’ti!

To celebrate the diversity and richness of the French language and culture, the 2013 stage intensif will be held in Lille, France for seven days and will continue on to Brussels, Belgium for the final five days. Lodgings in a deluxe hotel right in the center of both cities, within walking distance of restaurants, bookstores, boutiques, and public transportation, facilitate your séjour. We’ll be offering a dégustation de vin in addition to a cooking course, two day trips to the charming towns found near Lille and Brussels, a private visit to the European parliament, dinner with a local family, and opportunities to meet the townspeople in addition to our morning seminars and afternoon excursions.

For the fifteenth consecutive summer, we’re proud to present an excellent class leader to lead our seminars and stimulate your inquiry into intercultural issues, all of which is bound to have an impact on your lesson plans in the fall.

We hope you’ll come stretch your limits with us. REGISTRATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL APRIL 25.  REGISTER HERE; space is limited. WATCH OUR VIDEO!

Join us as we embrace this rich and varied region in the north. Vive la francophonie!
